  • Washing Instructions

    • Quantity: Wash two pillows at a time to maintain balance in the washer.

    • Water Temperature: Use hot, warm, or cold water—your choice. Keep in mind that warm or hot water may cause slight fabric shrinkage.

    • Spin Speed: Select the highest spin speed to remove as much moisture as possible.

    • Rinse Cycle: Add an extra rinse cycle to ensure all soap is thoroughly removed.

    • Detergent: Use a gentle, additive-free detergent.

    Optional:

    • Whitening: Opt for non-chlorine bleach if needed.

    • Fabric Softener: Avoid using fabric softener, as it can coat the down and feathers, reducing fluffiness.

    Drying Instructions

    • Temperature: Choose hot, warm, or low—keeping in mind that warmer settings may cause fabric shrinkage.

    • Drying Time: Be patient; it may take multiple cycles to ensure your pillow is completely dry.

    • Clumping or Odor: If your pillow smells musty or feels lumpy, it’s still damp inside and needs more drying time to prevent mold.

    • Drying Test: Fluff the pillow by hand between cycles—it may feel dry on the outside but still be damp inside. Always err on the side of extra drying time.

    Optional:

    • Dryer Balls or Clean Tennis Balls: Add one to three balls to help speed up drying time. They may sound loud but won’t damage the dryer.

    • Dryer Sheets: Use a dryer sheet if you’d like to add a fresh scent.

    Fluffing Your Pillow

To restore the fluff after washing and drying:

    • Use a low-heat setting.

    • Add three tennis or dryer balls.

    • Include a damp washcloth.

    • Add a fabric softener sheet for extra freshness.

    • Run the cycle for 15-20 minutes.

How Often Should You Wash Your Feather Pillows?

This depends on where the pillow is, how often it’s used, etc. I recommended washing your pillow insert every six to nine months.

Why? Over time, pillows accumulate skin cells, dirt, and dander. They also absorb sweat, oils, and saliva, which weigh them down and reduce their fluffiness. While pillowcases and protective covers help minimize buildup, your pillow will still need a thorough wash periodically to stay fresh and hygienic.
